The team
Hitachi Vantara is looking for a Data Analyst to join its Global Business Operations Analytics team. Part of the Business Transformation and Integrated Operations organization, this team connects the dots across multiple business functions to drive growth, promote data-driven decision making and helps solve dynamic business problems.
You will work with and learn from a broad set of internal customers including services, sales, marketing, product management, finance, pricing, and partner operations, as well as key business owners and stakeholders across many levels and functions of the organization. You will deliver insightful, strategic and accurate analysis that enables continuous improvement of business processes, actionable outcomes and executive decisions across the enterprise.
The role
- Delivery of analysis, dashboards, and sharp insights that enable functional leaders to quickly understand and effectively make decisions
- Applying statistical analysis to drive strategic and tactical decision-making
- Track critical business KPIs to measure performance and identify areas of improvement
- Gather, compile and transform large sets of data from multiple sources into structured information for analysis
- Analyze the organization's strategy versus evolving market trends, and use findings to influence strategies and execution
- Support business and process improvement projects requiring improved data and insights
- Collaborate with other functional areas
- Perform ad hoc data gathering, analysis and information delivery for stakeholders and influencers
- Take a project goal, build analysis and narrative, and illustrate with clean visuals and crisp story line
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Quantitative Marketing, or Engineering preferred, or a Master's combined with professional experience in a quantitative discipline performing statistical analysis
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience as business analyst, data analyst or similar quantitative discipline
- Excellent problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal skills and an ability to team with others
- High energy, creative, and self-starting; comfortable with ambiguity and possessing the ability to complete multiple projects on time
- Expert knowledge of data modeling and Excel, as well as data visualization
- Eagerness to collaborate with individuals from varying backgrounds and diverse skill sets
- Experience with Denodo and other reporting and analytics applications
- Proficient knowledge of SQL, Python and Power BI
