Job DescriptionTo provide data insights, analytics and reporting across projects and change initiatives within the Project Management Office (PMO) for Personal and Private Banking South Africa (PPBSA).
The role supports the PMO and broader change journey through the analysis and interpretation of project and change data, providing meaningful insights that enable informed decision-making and visibility of project performance, implementation progress, adoption and benefits realised.
The role also supports the development, implementation and maintenance of reporting platforms, dashboards and analytical tools, with a focus on strengthening data quality, simplifying reporting and enabling greater automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and interpret project and change data to identify trends, patterns, risks and insights that support PMO and business decision-making.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards and data visualisations that provide clear visibility of project performance, implementation progress, adoption and benefits realised.
- Consolidate, validate and manage data from multiple sources to ensure reporting is accurate, complete, reliable and fit for purpose.
- Maintain and enhance PMO reporting tools and platforms, while identifying opportunities to automate, simplify and continuously improve reporting processes.
- Engage with project, change and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate data into meaningful insights that support project delivery and the broader change journey.
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business/Commerce or another relevant analytical or quantitative field.
Experience Required:
- 2–3 years’ experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, project analytics or a related analytical environment, preferably within banking, financial services or another complex organisation.
- Hands-on experience using Power BI, SQL and Microsoft Excel to analyse data, develop dashboards, create data visualisations and produce meaningful business reporting.
- Experience working with multiple data sources, including extracting, cleaning, transforming, validating and consolidating data, with practical exposure to Power Query and DAX.
- Experience translating data into clear insights, trends and recommendations, with exposure to reporting automation, data quality, governance and the controlled use of data within a regulated environment.
- Exposure to Python, artificial intelligence (AI), generative AI or modern cloud and data platforms such as Azure, AWS, Databricks or Snowflake, as well as project or portfolio reporting tools such as Jira, would be advantageous.
