What success looks like in this role:
The Reporting Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, administering, supporting and optimising the business intelligence and reporting platforms, while progressively supporting data quality, data governance and data management activities. The role provides reporting solutions for internal stakeholders and global clients while managing the stability, security, compliance and performance of the legacy and current reporting environments.
Acting as subject-matter expert for WebFOCUS, Power BI, SQL-based reporting and secure client data delivery, the analyst also owns GDPR and data-purge requests, production support, data-quality improvement, metadata documentation and ad-hoc reporting. The role participates in cross-functional teams supporting enhancement releases, bug fixes, new internal tools and the future adoption of data-governance practices.
The incumbent should support Incident & Support Management team when investigating report failures, delivery issues and data discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting Platform Administration (WebFOCUS & SQL Server Infrastructure)
- Design, develop, enhance and maintain custom and standard reports using WebFOCUS 7.7, Power BI and Power BI Report Builder.
- Act as primary administrator for the WebFOCUS 7.7 platform, including user access, provisioning, roles, access removal and security reviews.
- Monitor and maintain production, backup, staging and supporting Report Server environments; perform recurring maintenance, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Manage report scheduling, distribution and ReportCaster operations; maintain server performance and availability.
- Support certificate renewals, audits, risk assessments and compliance initiatives.
- Support SQL infrastructure and integration – performance analysis, migrations, upgrades, data extraction, SSIS and warehousing where applicable.
- Manage reporting-platform capacity, storage, logging, certificates, software upgrades, security updates and operational stability.
- Support cybersecurity activities, including TLS exceptions, remediation, audits and secure-transfer modernisation.
- Provide client and stakeholder consultation for custom, operational and executive reporting requirements; support migration and modernisation of reporting solutions.
Secure Report Delivery
- Lead SFTP delivery requests for ISOS and external client servers using appropriate encryption protocols and security standards.
- Lead the design, administration and support of secure client-facing delivery using SFTP, PowerShell, WinSCP, encryption and appropriate ciphers.
- Create and maintain automated scheduling, distribution and file-delivery processes for internal and external servers.
- Monitor deliveries and resolve failed transfers, access issues and instances where clients do not receive scheduled reports.
- Replace unsupported legacy processes with secure automated workflows and improve efficiency through scripting.
Incident & Support Management
- Support Incident & Support Management (L2) team with the resolution of reporting incidents: scheduling errors, blank or corrupt output, format/compatibility issues and data discrepancies.
- Investigate PNR/data-flow issues across WebFOCUS, Tracker/Quantum and TMC feeds, providing clear root-cause explanations to Client Success Partners and clients.
- Act as an escalation point for high-visibility and VIP-impacting report issues, driving them to closure within SLA.
Data Privacy and Data Management
- Manage data-purge requests using the in-house tool to upload and purge data in line with client requirements
- Manage GDPR requests by querying relevant databases using client identifiers and performing data extraction or deletion in line with the approved request.
- Support data-breach mitigation with rapid, controlled purge of mis-queued or incorrectly routed PNRs and profiles.
- Write efficient SQL for data retrieval, manipulation, validation and analysis; support data-retention, privacy and information-governance requirements.
Data Quality and Data Governance
- Support data profiling, reconciliation and data-quality assessments across key data sources and business applications.
- Identify, investigate and document data-quality issues, including business impact, and support root-cause analysis with business and technical teams.
- Track data-quality issues and support remediation through closure, including verification of corrective actions.
- Assist with the implementation and administration of data-governance, data-catalogue or data-quality tools as required.

- Information Builders / TIBCO WebFOCUS platform administration and report development – NON-NEGOTIABLE (WebFOCUS 7.7 essential).
