Position Title: Data Analyst
Location: Remote Canada
Reports to: Manager, Strategy & Analytics
The Role:
The objective of this role is to analyze and process automotive data to meet accuracy, timeliness and completeness guidelines set by the department (which is driven by client demand). The Data Analyst assumes roles and responsibility for tasks related to ongoing improvement of the content group by closely working with our partners to connect tactics to results and recommend future activities. Each Data Analyst is ultimately responsible to ensure the content “Gold Standard”.
Core Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing, testing, improving and maintaining new and existing databases
- Process the most complex and high-profile SQL queries and reports in an extremely timely and accurate manner
- SQL Development
- Perform advanced analyses to understand and explain trends and drivers of key marketing metrics
- Prioritize work assignments to maximize personal efficiency and to meet completion commitments
- This individual is considered a data “go to” person or subject matter expert (SME) for a department function, process or data subset.
- Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with company policies and procedures
- Represent the content department in a professional/consultative manner to other departments
- Act as a positive Role Model for other members of the Data Department
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work well under pressure and to excel in a constantly changing environment
- Strong self-management and analytical abilities
- Very high accuracy and attention to detail is required and must be demonstrated in decision making and entry of information
- Self-motivated and able to work with a team
- Computer skills – MS office, excel, word
- Post-secondary education would be an asset
- Time management skills, organized and able to meet deadlines
- This role requires flexible hours (including OT) which may at times include early mornings, late nights and weekends
- Experience as a Data Analyst for a minimum of 3 years including SQL Development.
- Relevant experience in business intelligence, research, data analytics, data science, or a related field.
- Advanced SQL skills (PostgreSQL). Optimization of queries of high complexity in large dataset.
- Command of QlikView. Must be adept at crafting stories from your data and insights through reports and visualizations.
