Overview
ISS Governance Services Division, the world’s leading provider of proxy voting and corporate governance solutions, is seeking a Data Analyst under Quantitative Data Analysis Team in Manila.
The Data Analyst will be responsible for the Automated Data Operations function of ISS which includes manual and automated data collection of executive compensation data from financial statements. In this role, you may also support client projects to advance the ISS business and participate in data mining projects to identify trends and anomalies for marketing and research purposes and will be responsible for monitoring and resolving data-related support requests from clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated scripts to streamline data collection, transformation, and reporting processes.
- Manage web scraping solutions to extract structured and unstructured data from various online sources.
- Analyze datasets using SQL, creating complex queries to extract actionable insights and support business decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet analytical and operational needs.
- Ensure data integrity and quality, performing regular audits and validations of collected and processed data.
- Document processes and maintain version control for scripts and data workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/Programming, Statistics, Communications Research or any business-related course
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in business analytics or data operations preferably financial data, analyzing financial statements, financial metrics, and compensation structures is a plus
- Relevant experience in MS Excel VBA programming integrating with MS SQL, MS Access, XML and ADO.
- Experience in web scraping tools and technology is a major plus
- Demonstrated success in improving data quality and efficient data collections.
- Strong detail orientation is a necessity.
- General research skills, strong analytical skills, and the ability to document complex processes.
- Multi-tasking ability, including ability to be effective on multiple projects at one time.
- Strong problem-solving skills, and ability to follow-through independently.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently under minimal supervision.
- A strong work ethic and personal drive to achieve project goals
