What You'll Do
Epic Games is looking for a Data Analyst to join the Product Analytics team focused on Fortnite. Your role will focus on the collection, interpretation, visualization, and analysis of our data to help drive and support our decision-making with a particular focus on cosmetics and monetization. The position's primary objective is to transform complex data into reporting that allows stakeholders to understand the data and draw actionable conclusions. In this role, you will take the initiative and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. Your insights will shape how players access the content they love while building a sustainable business model for Fortnite.
In this role, you will
- Partner with product, design, game development, art, and programming counterparts to identify opportunities to give players the most value possible out of our cosmetics and use data to develop metrics and insights that shape the execution of our cosmetic strategy.
- Developing and maintaining standards for dashboards and reporting initiatives. This includes making sure data is visualized appropriately, creating consistent standards, and confirming that all data are accurate
- Working with key stakeholders to identify needs and report outputs to answer questions and drive decisions clearly
- Documenting requirements, developing, and delivering both written reports with analysis and charts on a dashboard
- Working with programming and QA to consistently monitor and improve our data
- Perform data analysis using data querying tools such as SQL and Spark
What we're looking for
- At least 3 years of professional experience as a Business Intelligence or Statistical Data Analyst
- Demonstrated understanding of both contemporary video games and analytics best practices
- Passion for games, analytics, and sharing data with others
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with development teams to instrument telemetry
- Experience writing efficient and scalable SQL over billions of rows; it is a plus if you are familiar with distributed computing using Spark (Scala or PySpark)
- Demonstrated skills in visualizing data (ideally using Tableau)
- Comfort with supporting operational processes, including Code version control (Github or similar), Orchestration (Airflow)
- Ability to prioritize, work with multiple departments, and deliver at a high speed
- Prior experience in gaming ecosystems and/or monetization preferred
This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including CA, NYC, & WA).

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
New York City Base Pay Range
$120,177—$176,260 USD
California Base Pay Range
$105,756—$155,109 USD
Washington Base Pay Range
$96,142—$141,008 USD
