What you’ll do:
Handle Incoming Data Requests (End-to-End)
- Manage all requests submitted through the data intake system from submission to delivery.
- Analyze business questions and translate them into structured data problems.
- Query data across warehouses, databases, and event platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Hex, Firebase, GA4).
- Visualize results using dashboards, charts, and clear storytelling formats.
- Interpret & provide insights that go beyond raw metrics — explaining drivers, anomalies, and business implications.
- Deliver answers that are accurate, consistent, and actionable for stakeholders.
Deliver High-Quality Reporting & Analysis
- Produce accurate, timely, and insightful reports, dashboards, and analyses that go beyond raw numbers to deliver clear business insights.
- Ensure every request is met with accuracy, consistency, and strategic context — not just answers, but actionable intelligence.
- Transform ad hoc requests into reusable reporting assets, reducing duplication and enabling self-service over time.
Drive Business Insights Across Departments
- Work closely with Finance, Product, Marketing, Partnerships, and Leadership to anticipate needs and proactively surface insights that drive decisions.
- Translate open-ended business questions into structured analyses with clear takeaways.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities from recurring requests and escalate learnings to leadership.
Provide Data Accuracy & Consistency
- Uphold Benjamin’s KPI definitions and ensure all reports align to company-wide standards.
- Act as the internal guardian of “one source of truth,” ensuring stakeholders receive consistent metrics regardless of team or channel.
Stakeholder Communication & Transparency
- Provide requestors with clear timelines, status updates, and expectations, fostering trust and reliability.
- Educate stakeholders on how to frame requests effectively, improving clarity and reducing back-and-forth.
Collaboration & Escalation with Data Engineering
- Handle the day-to-day data needs throughout the organization.
- Escalate only infrastructure-heavy or advanced requests to Data Engineering, fully packaged with context and justification to minimize disruption.
- Partner with Data Engineering to close gaps in data availability and improve long-term systems.
Process & System Improvement
- Continuously evaluate the request intake process, automating and improving wherever possible.
- Document workflows, create knowledge bases, and empower teams to access recurring insights without repeated requests.
- Identify bottlenecks in data access and propose scalable solutions that elevate company-wide decision-making.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics.
- Proficiency with SQL, mySQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Hex, or similar).
- Strong experience working with data warehouses and infrastructure (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Familiarity with event/data platforms (e.g., Firebase, GA4, Segment, Amplitude).
- Strong ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy, consistency, and delivering high-quality outputs.
