THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a Data Analyst for the Markets Analytics team in the Markets & Sales department, you will help build the next generation assortment-offering engine for Lounge by Zalando, while putting data at the core of our decisions and processes. Developing a deep understanding of our customers, evaluating our business decisions through complex analyses and deriving actionable insights as well as supporting the localised strategic directions will be part of your mission.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • You apply your data expertise and scientific knowledge in causal methods to support business decision-making, understand our customers and evaluate impact. You focus on delivering value through actionable insights and support the business in making informed decisions.

  • You collaborate with tech teams and develop your work into user-friendly data products and reports, answering questions such as which stock should be offered when to which customers? Based on your insights, you optimise and automate business processes via statistical methods, such as sales forecasts.

  • You are an excellent communicator - you excel at data storytelling and empower the team and your stakeholders through simple and effective visualisations.

  • You have an avid interest both in our business and in learning new methodologies, through which you contribute valuable ideas in team discussions.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You have a strong educational background in social sciences such as economics or in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, engineering or its equivalent. Master’s degree or higher preferred.

  • You have at least 2+ years of working experience as an analyst in a relevant field, ideally within an e-commerce context.

  • You demonstrate solid knowledge of SQL and Python and have experience with Git. You have a good understanding of statistical and causal methods.

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication and stakeholder management skills with a curious, creative and self-starter mindset. You couple your passion for data with pragmatism to drive actions and impact.

  • Experience with business intelligence tools like Tableau is a plus.
