Hybrid Working

We have a Hybrid approach to working here at Starling - our preference is that you're located within a commutable distance of one of our offices so that we're able to interact and collaborate in person. In Technology, we're asking that you attend the office a minimum of 1 day per week.

We are looking for talented data professionals at all levels to join the team. Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Fraud Strategy and Change, Fraud Risk, and Engineering teams to identify push payment fraud trends and use data analysis to propose solutions for prevention and transaction monitoring.
  • Perform exploratory data analyses in python of potential machine learning model features to help fight fraud.
  • Build and maintain push payment related feature tables in our warehouse using dbt.
  • Perform descriptive analysis using Looker visualisations and dashboards.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of work experience in data analysis / statistical analysis
  • Must have experience in fighting Fraud
  • Strong experience with SQL
  • Strong experience with handling data in Python
  • Experience with (or willingness to learn!) dimensional modelling and dbt
  • Familiarity with a BI tool such as Power BI or Looker
  • Strong communication skills
  • A creative thinker with a keen attention to detail

Interview process

Interviewing is a two way process and we want you to have the time and opportunity to get to know us, as much as we are getting to know you! Our interviews are conversational and we want to get the best from you, so come with questions and be curious. In general you can expect the below, following a chat with one of our Talent Team:

  • Stage 1 - 30 mins with one of the team
  • Stage 2 - Take home challenge
  • Stage 3 - 60 mins technical interview with two team members
  • Stage 3 - 45 min final with an executive and a member of the people team
