Key responsibilities
- Establish data-quality rules, measures, thresholds, and exception-management processes.
- Define data ownership and stewardship responsibilities with the teams that create and maintain configuration-item data.
- Identify the underlying causes of poor data not only the records needing correction including process gaps, unclear ownership, integrations, manual entry, and inadequate controls and presenting the findings to management and plan to rectify the findings.
- Produce practical documentation: data definitions, data mappings, process flows, RACI, quality rules, control evidence, and operating procedures.
- Use SQL and reporting tools to profile data, investigate exceptions, measure quality trends, and demonstrate improvement.
- Facilitate stakeholder discussions and build consensus when ownership or process responsibilities are unclear.
- Support enterprise-tool data cleanup and process improvement.
Your Profile
Must-have capabilities
- Experience with data quality, data governance, operational process improvement, ITSM, CMDB, or a comparable enterprise-system environment.
- Ability to analyze data using SQL and translate findings into actionable remediation plans.
- Experience gathering requirements and documenting processes, standards, workflows, or technical/business rules.
- Strong stakeholder-management and facilitation skills across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence or similar documentation/project management tools.
Preferred, not hard requirements
- CMDB or ITSM platform experience.
- Data-governance or service-management certifications.
- Automation, scripting, dashboarding, or data-pipeline experience.
- Ai experience is a plus
