The Data Analyst, Accounting I - FORT (Financial Oversight Review Team) provides operational support to the accounting department by creating, testing, and maintaining analytical reports on a regular basis. Ideal for a self-motivated individual who takes ownership of their work and provides complete, accurate results. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides data validation support on major accounting projects.

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies through systematic analysis and root cause investigation.

  • Create and maintain Excel-based reports and analyses to effectively monitor and manage cash activity within the accounting function.

  • Document workflows and maintain procedural guides for recurring analyses and reconciliations.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong SQL skills with experience writing queries and manipulating data

  • Experience with Snowflake data warehouse or similar cloud-based data platforms

  • Advanced Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, Power Pivot, etc.).

  • Experience with a programming language (Python or R preferred)

  • Understanding of general accounting principles

  • Exceptional attention to detail with ability to catch and report errors and inconsistencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to master, implement, and adapt to new software platforms.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data management, Computer Science, Accounting, or Finance.

  • 1-3 years of progressive experience in accounting.

  • Experience with Snowflake, Python, PowerBi preferred

The estimated base pay for this role is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The estimated base pay for this position is the annualized equivalent of $59,000.00 - $69,000.00, depending on experience, qualifications, market location, and other job-related factors. In addition, this role is eligible for commissions based on performance and productivity against commission plan parameters. Excellent benefits package including but not limited to PTO, medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan with company match, life insurance, long term and short-term disability options, FSA/HSA, tuition reimbursement, and other voluntary benefits.
