The Collections Risk Strategy Team is responsible for the strategies and initiatives that help both combat delinquencies and losses, and forecast future delinquencies and losses in an ever changing economic environment. As part of this team you will have the opportunity to develop sophisticated strategies, perform cutting edge analysis and drive meaningful and challenging projects that improve the customer experience and deliver improved profitability for our business. You will have unparalleled exposure to Senior Leadership (i.e., seasoned Credit Analysts regularly present their analyses and recommendations to the Bank CEO and CFO) and be part of a dynamic, fast paced and growing division within Nordstrom.
A day in the life...
- Develop and analyze data that is used to interpret credit card portfolio performance
- Monitor the performance of existing Collections strategies and present findings in concise and effective manner via related reports and presentations
- Translate analytical findings into actionable strategic recommendations
- Assess and forecast vintage performance to monitor expected credit losses and credit delinquencies
- Develop innovative solutions using data mining and programming techniques
- Design business cases for different solutions that we need to bring to the collections risk area, or the collections operations area, to maximize our net loss reduction
- Proactively suggest improvements to existing strategies
- Identify and provide recommendations regarding new opportunities to improve business processes in the context of credit delinquencies and losses
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners, including TD Bank, Implementation Teams, Operations, and Finance, to increase share of Nordstrom sales, deliver a world-class customer experience, and meet business objectives
- Complete additional Ad hoc requests as necessary
You own this if you have…
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent combination of experience and education required. Advanced degree preferred.
- Three to six years’ experience in gathering, reporting on, and analyzing financial data, preferably in the consumer credit card industry
- Experience building, changing or evaluating dialer strategies preferred
- Demonstrated ability to design impactful strategies aimed at optimizing financial metrics
- Experience using SAS/SQL programming languages
- Proficient in MS Office, with advanced MS Excel skills
- Proven success developing SQL/SAS programs that produce output and reporting in a seamless, fully-automated fashion
- Knowledge of the Consumer Credit Industry strongly preferred
- Ability to take ambiguous data questions, translate them into a clear analytical plan, and produce concise summary output that includes recommendations based upon core findings
- Proven ability to proficiently communicate complicated data and analytical issues verbally, in writing, or in presentation form to core stakeholders and partners across the enterprise
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team
- Ability to assess and forecast vintage performance and losses
- Demonstrated ability to develop segmented collection strategies that customize timing and treatments for delinquent customers

Pay Range Details
The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Colorado: $89,000- $147,000 annually, Washington: $102,500- $170,500 annually
