Data Analysis & AI in CMC Intern

Role Overview

Legend Biotech is seeking a Data Analysis & AI in CMC intern as part of the technical manufacturing and QC development team based in Somerset, NJ for our 2025 Summer Internship Program, which will run from June 9th, 2025, to August 15th, 2025, to extract scientific learnings from datasets. The intern will analyze datasets development studies using conventional and artificial intelligence tools, seeking observations of simple, nonlinear, and multifactorial relationships between variables.  The intern will process datasets into appropriate organization and storage, allowing controlled access and manipulation. They will then apply various tools including artificial intelligence and statistical analyses to gather observations from the data and discuss them with technical subject matter experts to interpret observations and create deep scientific knowledge. In addition, the intern will work with technical experts to identify additional applications of analysis tools including artificial intelligence that produce useful outcomes.  

Key Responsibilities  

• In collaboration with information technology experts, organize non-GMP data into databases that allow controlled access and interrogation 
• Apply various methods including artificial intelligence to identify relationships between variables 
• Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to interpret results and gain scientific insight from observations 
• Eliminate trivial and insignificant observations and conclusions 
• Perform statistical analysis to assess the validity of observations 
• Suggest experimental designs that can probe and/or demonstrate utility of key observations 
• Identify creative applications of artificial intelligence for manufacturing and QC datasets 
• Ensure data security within company policies including responsible use of artificial intelligence 

• Expertise in data analysis
• Familiarity with key software tools such as JMP, Minitab, etc 
• Familiarity with database tools 
• Proficiency with one or more artificial intelligence tools 
• Ability to work within company processes to ensure data security 
• Understanding of biology, immunology, or other related areas 
• Understanding of statistical significance analyses is a plus
