Job Description
Experian's Data Office are looking for a new Data Acquisition Lead to help expand our Verification Services area - this is one of the highest priority growth areas for the UK&I business that between FY26-FY30 will contribute >$80m of new revenue.
Verification Services are powered by data & you will be 'mission-critical' to us achieving the year-on-year revenue targets.
Over FY26-FY30 the Verifications Team will establish data connections to >14m UK PAYE employees, delivering a data hit rate from c25% to c70% and maintaining data integrity at +98%.
This is a Hybrid position based in either Nottingham or London reporting to the Head of Data Acquisition.
Responsibilities
- The Data Acquisition Lead develops data acquisition strategies to support our product growth, managing relationships with important data partners, sourcing and acquiring data, integrating data into systems, and providing insights on data acquisition performance. The role includes overseeing contract negotiations and exploring new partnership opportunities.
- Data Sourcing & Acquisition - Identification of strategic data sources through partnerships and external collaborations, including public datasets, APIs, and partner-driven projects. Lead engagement with partners to understand data needs and ensure delivery of data aligned with goals.
- Partner Relationship Management - Leads the building of relationships with important data partners, third-party vendors, and industry collaborators to secure reliable and unique data. Identify issues and agree executable plans to recover. Grow partnership to increase the value of the relationships across the Experian business.
- Commercial Management -Work with Global Procurement on data agreements, terms and pricing with external partners to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes. Ensure ongoing performance is following contractual and commercial expectations.
- Data Integration & Collaboration - Leads engagement with our teams and external partners to integrate acquired data into centralized data systems. Ensure that all data from external sources is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with our needs.
- Insights & Reporting - Develops insights on data acquisition performance and partner relationships, highlighting important trends, risks, and opportunities. Develop reports that demonstrate the value and effect of partnerships on overall data strategy and outcomes.
- Contract, Cost & Compliance Management - Work with Global Procurement on complex contract negotiations with data partners, ensuring that terms comply with data privacy regulations and industry standards. Maintain documentation of all partnership agreements and data acquisition processes. Manage delivery of data acquisition within the set budget and to the set rate
- Data Strategy – Contributor to defining the strategy for verification data growth and data diversification that delivers forecast business financial performance (revenue / EBIT) and sustainable data difference from competitors.

Experience needed:-
Essential:
- Acquisition, partnerships, or business development experience with a focus on data-driven solutions.
- Senior level experience managing external partnerships.
- Experience creating and leading acquisition strategies
- Evidence of managing solutions throughout the partner lifecycle including development of main metrics and subsequent supplier business reviews and problem resolution
Desirable
- Experience delivering solutions in partnership with external HR, Payroll or Finance partners
- Experience in a data acquisition role
- Background working with businesses using SAP or Workday would be beneficial, but not essential
- Evidence of end-to-end sourcing and delivery of data into a live environment
