As a Dashboard Developer, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of web applications that make USGS geospatial data easier to access, explore, and understand. You will work within existing codebases to improve functionality, create visually engaging user interfaces, enhance the presentation of geospatial information, and develop and enhance scripted processes that support the processing and delivery of geospatial data. Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Proven experience developing, enhancing, and maintaining responsive, user-focused web applications and interfaces using JavaScript, React, and modern JavaScript libraries, including contributing to existing code, improving functionality, and enhancing the presentation of geospatial data
- Ability to document development workflows and technical decisions through written documentation, code comments, assignment tickets, or similar methods
- Strong collaboration and initiative with the ability to work effectively as part of a team, take ownership of assigned work, and proactively identify opportunities to improve applications and development processes
- Familiarity with Python scripting for geospatial data processing
- Proficiency with modern web development technologies such as Node.js, Vite, Next.js, Typescript, or similar tools
- Background developing web mapping applications with ArcGIS JavaScript API or similar geospatial mapping technologies
- Exposure to AWS cloud infrastructure and services
