DAS System Performance Engineer

About the role

Are you a proponent of providing top-level network operation support and maintenance to Tier-1 enterprise clients? This position supports the quality and performance of Boldyn’s wireless assets through knowledgeable actions. We're on the lookout for a DAS System Performance Engineer, who will represent Boldyn as the technical party responsible for commissioning, integrating, optimizing, analyzing, and improving performance of iDAS and oDAS systems. Based in our Atlanta or New York City office on a hybrid basis you’ll be providing top tier support to our amazing clients.

What you’ll be doing

As part of the Operations team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring network performance and best-in-class support to enterprise level clients. At all levels, colleagues will rely on your communication and collaboration in order to maintain a complex and critical network. It’s a role with a lot of variety, and day-to-day, you’ll mainly be involved with: 

  • Assume full ownership of the technical application and integration of DAS networks into Carrier and Boldyn networks.
  • Provide on-site and remote support for engineering activities including, but not limited to, commissioning, integration, data collection, optimization.
  • Define the technical scope of work, source vendors, and coordinate with Internal and external teams to facilitate schedules and logistics around commissioning, integration, optimization, and project closeout.
  • Analyze and confirm passive test results from coaxial sweeps, PIM, OTDR, and other tests related to wireless network commissioning and carrier integration.
  • Review and audit DAS commissioning, integration, and optimization data from internal and external sources.
  • Effectively communicate project status, risks, and required resolutions.
  • Apply analytical skills and extensive experience to improve internal processes as well as internal and external engineering knowledge.
  • Travel as needed to support assigned projects. Up to 70%

  • Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited university in Engineering or Computer Science; three to five (3-5) years of experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry
  • Minimum of 3 years of DAS/Wireless Experience
  • iBwave Level 1 Certification – Level 2 Preferred
  • Four or more DAS OEM certifications
  • Practical knowledge on DAS processes and procedures. (DAS project workflow, Stakeholders, Commissioning, Infrastructure testing, Integration, Optimization, Acceptance Testing)
  • Advanced level knowledge in one or more of the categories: Passive infrastructure testing, Data Collection and Post processing, LTE/NR air interface, Wireless technology systems integration
  • Practical expert level knowledge and aptitude of DAS OEM’s and Topologies
  • Detailed understanding of passive transmission line testing methods and requirements
  • Detailed understanding of common DAS infrastructure problems including, but not limited to, PIM; VSWR; Return Loss
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Strong Knowledge and aptitude of Microsoft Products
  • Demonstrable History of Success
