All about the role:
As the D2C Outbound Communications Manager, you will lead the development and execution of the end-to-end outbound communications strategy across D2C and e-commerce channels, ensuring alignment with business goals. You will drive outbound communications across email, SMS and other channels, combining expertise in lifecycle marketing, personalisation, customer data and marketing technology to deliver relevant consumer experiences.
This is a high-profile, commercially focused role responsible for major seasonal sales campaigns, including Black November. Acting as both a strategic marketer and CRM subject matter expert, you will work closely with D2C Commercial teams, Product Managers, Product Owners, Data Analysts, Content and Activation teams to create targeted communications that deliver measurable business results.The role also has a strong operational component, requiring hands-on experience with CRM tools. You will translate consumer engagement needs into technical requirements, driving personalisation, automation, audience activation, testing, customer journey orchestration and AI-powered engagement initiatives. Alongside creating audiences, reporting and analysing campaign performance, you will support colleagues in local markets through training and troubleshooting, in partnership with agency and product teams.
Measuring and optimising performance will be a core responsibility, ensuring communications resonate with consumers and contribute to business objectives. With a data-driven and curious mindset, you will continuously improve tools, processes and ways of working, using insights to drive optimisation and identify new opportunities.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and execute E2E, the outbound communications calendar for D2C and e-commerce channels.
- Understand the holistic consumer journey, including needs and pain points while collaborating with commercial teams and local markets.
- Plan and execute targeted D2C campaigns, working with CRM tools and segmentation.
- Analyse campaign performance and consumer behaviour to identify opportunities for channel optimisation and growth.
- Support roadmap planning and translate business needs into requirements and user stories for product and engineering teams.
- Drive innovation in consumer engagement practices by staying current with industry trends and best practices.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, related field, or relevant Business experience.
- 5+ years experience in digital touchpoints focused on consumer communication and ecommerce.
- Experienced E2E campaign manager, working with email and ideally SMS and other OB channels.
- Strong background in consumer journey orchestration, segmentation, personalisation and lifecycle management.
- Experience collaborating with product, engineering and data teams in agile environments, including knowledge of product development technologies.
- You have a commercial mindset and a flexible approach to driving continuous optimisation while enjoying being part of a diverse team of highly talented marketers.
Skills Required
