The Opportunity
Our Operations Services group is currently seeking an experienced D.O.T. Field Compliance Specialist to join our highly performing US Pipeline Safety Compliance team, reporting out of Thompson Station, TN.
Reporting to the Manager, D.O.T. Field Compliance East, the successful candidate will be responsible primarily for providing regulatory compliance support and guidance for an identified operating region with US Gas Operations. This will include facilitating both internal inspections and external inspections of our pipeline, liquified natural gas (LNG), and underground natural gas storage facilities with Federal and State agencies.
For qualified candidates, Charleston, WV and other US-based regional offices may be considered.
What you will do
Provide overall support and guidance to ensure documented adherence to state and federal regulations for 49 CFR 191, 192 and 193 as well as TC Energy internal programs and processes, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standard
Lead and participate in Federal and State inspections for their respective Region
A key aspect of the role is to communicate regulatory interpretations to our business unit management team with the intent of implementing continuous productivity improvements, product/service quality improvements, and management of change
Establish and maintain relationships across the business and with external regulatory bodies, enhance credibility and trust, and influence and manage at multiple levels of the organization
Represent TC Energy in all aspects of Department of Transportation regulatory requirements with State and Federal Agencies
Support emergency response and associated exercises
Identify process improvements and best practices observed in the field or recommended by others and ensure implementation by working with key stakeholders
Understand and provide guidance on established regulations, standards, best practices, company policies, procedures, practices and their applicability to the company
Support and disseminate changes to various DOT compliance programs
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Six (6) plus years of experience
Experience in DOT Regulatory Compliance
Knowledge of 49 CFR 191, 192 and 193 regulations
Possess excellent computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint and SharePoint)
Highly effective communication skills both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or other related field
Experience participating or administering DOT Inspections
Underground Natural Gas Storage experience
This position requires candidates to:

Have current, valid authorization to travel internationally (including but not limited to Canada, US and Mexico)
Successfully complete pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review
Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training (estimated up to 20% of work schedule)
