Cypress QA Engineer

Software Requirements:

• Extensive experience with Cypress, Selenium, and other automated testing frameworks.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and scripting languages.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and experience with API testing tools like Postman.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and practices.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.

Overall Responsibilities:

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and other QA team members to ensure high-quality software releases.
• Participate in requirement analysis, design discussions, and provide input from a QA perspective.
• Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution.
• Continuously improve test coverage, efficiency, and effectiveness of the QA process.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in QA and automated testing.

Technical Skills: Category-wise:

Automation Testing:

• Proficiency in Cypress, Selenium.
• Experience in writing reusable and maintainable test scripts.

Programming Languages:

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with other languages and scripting (Python, Bash).

CI/CD:

• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
• Integration of automated tests in CI/CD pipelines.

API Testing:

• Experience with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI).
• Understanding of RESTful services and JSON.

Version Control:

• Proficient in Git and version control practices.

Agile Methodologies:

• Experience working in Agile development environments.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in automated testing with a strong focus on Cypress.
• Proven track record in a QA role with hands-on experience in automation testing.
• Experience in testing web applications and APIs.

Day-to-Day Activities:

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress.
• Execute automated tests and analyze results.
• Perform manual testing when necessary.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and design specifications.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning meetings, and retrospectives.
• Report and document defects in an organized manner.
• Continuously review and improve testing processes and strategies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Professional certifications in QA/testing (ISTQB, CSTE) are a plus.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
