GDIT is seeking a Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) help support our Code 50 White Collar program.

As an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) for our Code 50 White Collar program in Philadelphia, PA you will be responsible for designs and evaluates end-to-end systems through their entire life cycle. Ensures products and systems comply with requirements and customer information assurance and cybersecurity standards and practices through formal verification methods with specific emphasis on network operations and cyber warfare tactics.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Conducts software and systems engineering and software systems research to develop new capabilities, ensuring cybersecurity is fully integrated. Conducts comprehensive technology research to evaluate potential vulnerabilities in cyberspace systems
  • Designs, develops, tests, and evaluates information system security throughout the systems development life cycle
  • Tests, implements, deploys, maintains, and administers the infrastructure hardware and software
  • Helps to conduct risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design
  • Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access
  • Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research
  • Assists with the design and development of new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks
  • Helps to ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Helps to integrate new architectural features into existing infrastructures, designs cybersecurity architectural artifacts, provides architectural analysis and relates existing system to future needs and trends, embeds advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration/testing issues


Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering or a Cyber Security related degree from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited program, 5+ years experience
  • five (5) years of experience as an ISSE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government.
  • Experience with testing methods, automated tools, plans, and procedures for verification of compliance and vulnerability requirements.
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment tools, including but not limited to Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Host Based Security System (HBSS) and DISA SCAP/STIGs Experience with the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) Experience with modern networks, operating systems, databases, and virtual computing Ability to develop and interpret security architectures, data flow diagrams, engineering electrical/pinout drawings, and publications that depict the system(s) architecture Ability to be able to identify risk areas of non-compliance and propose solutions to design to full-fill operational requirements and meet cybersecurity requirements simultaneously.
