The Engineering Manager is an individual contributor accountable for project design, concept estimates, team performance and developing strategic plans to develop projects. Responsibilities include obtaining, clarifying, and managing scope, budget and schedule within approved parameters and providing structured and detailed reports to Management.
Tasks include but are not limited to, project design and support from concept to construction, schedule maintenance of design elements, task coordination, project reporting, component specifications, permit support documentation, and relationship management with external customers, vendors, local authorities and regulatory agencies. Interacts routinely with key internal and external stakeholders including senior management, and governmental and regulatory officials.
This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer and is remote with travel to support project development efforts.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Supervise project design to assure reliability, functionality, compliance with all applicable codes and standards, operability, cost, time, quality and execution guidelines according to schedule
- Coordinate all parties involved (internal and external) to ensure professional project management from system design to construction support phase
- Plan, direct and coordinate activities of engineering team to ensure projects adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and manages risks and potential mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with project management team to coordinate and manage select EPC entities engaged on various projects. Represent project towards external parties such as public authorities, utilities and others
- Lead and collaborate with the team and actively participates in developing project standards
- Monitor, review and analyze progress against project plans; implement and manage project changes and update plans; prepare and present status reports defining progress, challenges and solutions.
- Manage and coordinate the work of effective project teams that represent internal and external stakeholders to ensure that established design standards, regulations, policies, procedures and other critical goals, objectives and initiatives are met.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Specialty Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of anaerobic digestion of varied wastes, wastewater and biogas processing
- Experience: 10-15 years’ proven work experience in Engineering Management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project), with advanced skills in data analysis and presentation.
- Demonstrated expertise in executing projects under an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract structure, with a track record of delivering on time, within scope, and budget. Familiar with project management and scheduling Procore TM software a plus.
- Proven ability to track multiple aspects of complex projects and exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Solid interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively with multiple project stakeholders, and the ability to influence and motivate others.
- Possess the ability to establish project schedules and achieve goals and solve problems independently.
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Experience with anaerobic digester projects, site evaluation and assessments, municipal planning and development processes and entitlement and/or building permits also desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Home Office Setup: Ability to establish and maintain a functional home office environment, including access to a reliable internet connection and the necessary equipment for video conferencing and document review.
- Extended Computer Use: Capability to perform essential tasks while seated at a computer for prolonged periods, including keyboarding, document preparation, and virtual meetings.
- Visual and Auditory Requirements: Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capability to conduct video calls, read technical documents, and interpret permit-related data.
- Travel Readiness: Flexibility to travel to project sites or company locations. Must be able to handle travel-related physical requirements, including carrying personal travel items, handling permit-related materials, and walking short distances across various terrains at job sites.
- Communication Proficiency: Ability to engage in clear, professional communication via phone, video, and email, with strong auditory and verbal skills for remote collaboration with team members and regulatory authorities.
- Workspace Ergonomics: Ability to adjust and organize a home office workspace to ensure a productive and ergonomic environment, reducing strain and promoting sustained productivity.
