At a Glance:

As a Cybersecurity Architect, you will be responsible for designing systems to help secure H&P’s network. You will serve as the technical expert on the cybersecurity systems, assisting the engineering and support organizations as needed. Your role will involve analyzing our current security infrastructure, identifying potential gaps, and developing comprehensive security solutions that align with our business objectives. You will work closely with other IT and security professionals to ensure that all tools and technologies are effectively integrated and optimized.

What you will do:

  • Security Architecture Design: Develop and maintain the overall security architecture strategy for the organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

  • Tool Evaluation and Integration: Evaluate, recommend, and integrate a variety of cybersecurity tools and technologies, including but not limited to firewalls, endpoint protection systems, encryption tools, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure the effective implementation of security measures and to address any security-related issues.

  • Research and Development: Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies. Evaluate and recommend new tools and practices to enhance the organization's security posture.

  • Mentoring: Mentoring other members of the team to help them grow in their cybersecurity knowledge.  Document best practice procedures for the team.

  • Standards, Policies, and Procedures:

    • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, standards, and associated documentation as necessary.

    • Maintain a current knowledge of applicable standards, frameworks, regulations, internal compliance, and related requirements

    • Guide H&P and vendor adherence to policies, standards, processes and procedures.

    • Develop reference architectures, publish design patterns, drive technical designs to consensus and approval.

    • Help formalize, mature, and drive programs related to architecture reviews and remediation.

What you need:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on architecture, design, and implementation of security solutions.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in a wide range of cybersecurity tools and technologies, including but not limited to:

    • Identity and Access Management: Knowledge of IGA, MFA, and PIM/PAM solutions.

    • Firewalls and VPNs: Knowledge of next-gen firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation.

    • SIEM Systems: Familiarity with SIEM tools like Splunk, ArcSight, or QRadar.

    • Endpoint Protection: Understanding of endpoint protection solutions, including antivirus and anti-malware.

    • Encryption Technologies: Experience with data encryption and key management solutions.

    • Cloud Security: Knowledge of cloud security principles and tools for platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to be the technical lead on projects, mentor junior staff, and work with cross-functional teams.

Not a must, but a plus:

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
