Cybersecurity Analyst

Do you have experience protecting large SaaS environments and APIs from bots, scrapers, and layer 7 attacks? Are you looking for a fast-moving and challenging environment on a growing team where you can sharpen your skills and gain experience?

As a Cybersecurity Analyst and member of the Pitchbook Cybersecurity Team, you will design, engineer, and use security solutions that safeguard PitchBook systems from fraudulent and abusive behaviors. You will leverage your subject matter expertise and experience in a fast-paced environment to solve challenges in a way that is collaborative and connected directly to our engineering practices. In this role, you will be provided with opportunities to learn, grow, and develop your career while being supported by a growing cybersecurity team and leadership that understands the need to align security practices with customer satisfaction and profitability.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Stay current with Layer 7 automation and bot design techniques, applying this understanding toward engineering and cybersecurity solutions at PitchBook
• Provide expertise and advice to PitchBook Engineering teams to drive secure software development and platform design throughout the Software Development Lifecycle
• Work with large, distributed Layer 7 traffic management and protection platforms
• Provide expertise during cybersecurity incident response events
• Apply the company value “The Customer is King” through your daily work
• Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
• Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or IT Management
• 1+ years of experience in Information Security or related technology functions, such as data analysis, engineering, or software development
• Experience in one or more programming or scripting languages (eg. Python, Node.js, Java, UNIX shell)
• Collaborative written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively read the situation and adjust your communication style to the audience
• Some experience with Cloudflare, CloudFront, Mixpanel, and Splunk
• Some experience working with cloud security controls across AWS or GCP

Compensation

• Annual base salary: $110,000-$140,000
• Target annual bonus percentage: 10%

*Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location. 

Working Conditions:

We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it’s helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3+ days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
