Cybersecurity Analyst I

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cybersecurity Analyst I assists in the monitoring and reporting of security incidents related to the company computer systems and networks. This position supports in development of processes and procedures that will provide strong security layers for the organization’s systems. This role works with project and department teams to identify and resolve PCI, Sarbanes, C-TPAT and other compliance and security issues, and creates, distributes and provides training materials and sessions on IT Security awareness.  The Cybersecurity Analyst 1 protects the organization's computer and communications network from intrusion and compromise. This requires constant monitoring of network traffic, ongoing security awareness of the entire company, and diligent analysis of the way the organization decides to implement new technologies and business processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Analyzes logs, account management and other security procedures.  Works with other analysts and department management to provide leadership and guidance for the creation and implementation of remediation processes to correct failures in security requirements.

• Uses knowledge of compliance requirements to help project and departmental teams put necessary safeguards and business best practices to use when implementing new technology or business processes.

• Reviews the security and compliance posture of current systems and performs information security assessments or audits of internal networks and systems in cooperation with management. Documents findings in written reports with recommendations for remediation.

• Drafts and disseminates security policy to address contemporary security threats and vulnerabilities.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree

• Preferred Degree: Master's Degree in Cyber Security

• Certificate(s) or License(s) preferred: Security+ Certification

• Years of experience: Zero to three

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Knowledge of Information Security, compliance, and system administration.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals.

• Ability to present and explain technical topics, problems, and alternative solutions to others.

• Ability to maintain appropriate documentation.

• Desire to learn new tools.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Possible infrequent travel

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Regular computer work and sitting.

• Occasional walking and standing.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

• Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
