Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for Staff Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL.
Essential Functions:
The candidate will demonstrate an understanding of Cybersecurity practices and willing to perform technical planning, system integration, verification & validation, cost & risk, and sustainment of computing systems. The candidate will be expected to apply cybersecurity practices and methodologies to all engineering phases, obtain customer or product requirements, provide secure systems engineering solutions for complex software and hardware systems, and systems of systems.
Day to day responsibilities may include:
• Have fundamental knowledge of Systems Engineering practices, network technologies, system development life cycles and methodologies, and insight into information technology infrastructure management/monitoring and applications
• Demonstrate strong verbal/written communication skills, the ability to work well within a team environment, and strong analytical capabilities with the interest in applying troubleshooting skills and techniques to solve problems.
• Participate in team reviews of technical requirements, design and implementation plans prior to deployment.
• Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance, reliability, and security of the system including installing, upgrading, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration
• Apply Cyber Security technologies according to Risk Management Framework (RMF) Controls
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of related experience or a Master’s degree and 10 years of related experience, or a PhD. with 8 years or related experience or 16 years of experience in lieu of education
US Citizenship, current DoD Secret clearance or higher
Must have a DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security + CE)
Communicates effectively, both internally and externally to team
Eager to expand knowledge and continually improve
Ability to write or review software code
Must be able to support an in-person, closed-area work environment 100% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with AIX/Solaris Unix, RHEL and Cisco Networks
Familiarity with CSM (Cyber Security Manager) systems
Experience with VMWare ESXi, VMWare vCenter
Experience with LAN and WAN management
Familiarity with Network Technologies and Cybersecurity
Strong systems administrator experience, specifically in Windows/Linux Operating Systems environments
Experience working with cloud technologies and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud
Primary Level Salary Range: $185,900.00 - $278,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
