Role Overview

The Cyber Solutions Architect (CSA) is an individual contributor responsible for designing secure, scalable solutions that enable digital transformation across RTX & BUs. This role supports critical projects by applying deep technical expertise, aligning to enterprise architecture standards, and integrating cybersecurity and compliance requirements from the start.

This position plays a key technical role in advancing the maturity and impact of Cyber Architecture across the enterprise. You will represent your Business Unit’s needs within the broader Enterprise Services (ES) Digital Solutions Cybersecurity strategy while ensuring alignment to enterprise standards, architecture patterns, compliance frameworks, and agile operating models. Working closely with program leads, project teams, and cybersecurity stakeholders, CSA plays a key role in shaping solution architecture early, reducing downstream risk and rework. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in cybersecurity architecture, and ideally some experience working in agile, iterative delivery environments.

What You Will Do:

Partner with business and digital teams to define secure-by-design architectures for digital transformation and modernization initiatives
Develop Architecture Overview Documents and security architecture deliverables aligned to patterns, standards, and regulatory frameworks
Apply reusable reference architectures, threat modeling, and risk-informed decision-making to support secure solution design
Participate in architecture governance workflows such as gated lifecycle program management processes, architecture review boards, risk management framework, Agile planning, business prioritization, and compliance review processes
Collaborate with GRC, Legal, Privacy, and Infrastructure teams to ensure secure and compliant architecture implementation
Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for architectural process enhancement, tooling, and reuse
Contribute to knowledge sharing and technical guidance across the Cyber Architecture team
Engage with agile and project teams to align architecture within planning, MVP, and iterative delivery cycles
Partner with application/service owners to ensure System Security Plans (SSPs) are complete, accurate, and aligned with regulatory and enterprise security requirements, providing guidance, review, and challenge where needed.
Oversee SSP compliance and quality through structured reviews, control validation, and evidence tracking, ensuring gaps are translated into actionable remediation and risk treatment activities.
Conduct detailed security design and risk assessments for new/emerging On-prem and Cloud applications, platforms, and third party services, providing expert cyber consulting and architecting robust, secure-by-design solutions across enterprise initiatives
Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity
8+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, solution architecture, solution engineering, or related technical roles
Proven ability to support complex solution development or integration projects from a cybersecurity perspective
Knowledge of secure system design, architecture modeling, and application of compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO-27001, NIST 800-171, CSF & CMMC)
Experience in securing cloud architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure), including identity, access management, and secure deployment patterns
Understanding of modern networking concepts and secure connectivity (e.g., routing, firewalling, ingress/egress control)
Strong documentation and communication skills, including the ability to convey architecture decisions to technical and non-technical audiences
Exposure to agile or DevSecOps environments and comfort engaging within agile team structures
Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience in regulated industries (e.g., aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure)
Experience supporting cloud security architecture, including cloud-native services and tools such as CNAPP, CSPM, CIAM, or API security
Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and architecture modeling tools (e.g., Sparx EA)
Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, or similar agile planning and documentation tools
Certifications such as Security+, CISSP Associate, Cloud Security Architect, TOGAF, or SAFe Agilist are a plus
What Success Looks Like:

High-quality architecture deliverables that improve clarity, speed, and compliance
Proactive architecture engagement that reduces rework, accelerates approvals, and builds stakeholder trust
Demonstrated ownership of assigned projects/tasks and ability to guide teams toward secure outcomes
Growing influence in shaping solution direction within a cross-functional, agile operating model
