We are looking for an enthusiastic and security-minded Cyber Security Intern to join our growing Information Security team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong foundation in networking, operating systems, and cybersecurity fundamentals, along with a passion for ethical hacking, penetration testing, and security research.

This role is designed for candidates who aspire to build a long-term career in Cyber Security and eventually grow into a Cyber Security Subject Matter Expert (SME). The intern will work closely with infrastructure teams, developers, and QA teams to identify vulnerabilities, improve security posture, and support information security initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) activities.
• Prepare security assessment reports and documentation.
• Perform security testing of web applications, APIs, networks, and wireless environments.
• Support security audits, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives.
• Monitor security alerts, logs, and incidents using security monitoring tools.
• Participate in incident investigation and root cause analysis activities.
• Conduct research on evolving cyber threats and attack techniques, translate findings into security improvements, and support proactive risk mitigation initiatives.
• Support secure coding and application security review activities.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, QA, and infrastructure teams on security best practices.


Requirements
• Bachelor's degree (or final-year student) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Information Security, Computer Applications, or related field
• Strong understanding of Computer Networks, Operating Systems, and Security Fundamentals
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPNs, and Firewalls
• Basic understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and common attack vectors
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line usage
• Basic knowledge of scripting/programming using Python, JavaScript, Bash, or PowerShell
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, encryption, and cryptography concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• Curiosity, self-learning mindset, and strong attention to detail

Preferred Certifications

Candidates with one or more of the following certifications or training programs will be preferred:

• Certificate of Completion – Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking
• WiFi Pentesting 101
• Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate V2
• Web Application Security Certification
• Cisco Cybersecurity Course / Cybersecurity Essentials
• Critical Infrastructure Protection
• Junior Penetration Tester (eJPT or equivalent)
• ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
• CompTIA Security+ (Preferred)
• TryHackMe or Hack The Box Learning Paths

Good to Have

• Familiarity with security tools such as Burp Suite, Nmap, Wireshark, Metasploit, OWASP ZAP, or Nessus
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Participation in Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions or bug bounty programs
• Academic projects related to cybersecurity, networking, or ethical hacking
• Exposure to SIEM, SOC operations, or threat intelligence concepts
• Knowledge of secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC)
