Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Cyber Security Analyst at Wurth IT USA. The Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the security of our company's information systems and networks.

Qualifications

• In depth experience with leading SIEM technologies
• Experience or demonstrable knowledge in Incident response, log analysis and PCAP analysis
• Good level of knowledge in network fundamentals, for example, OSI Stack, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP(S), SMTP
• Good level of understanding in the approach threat actors take to attacking a network, phishing, port scanning, web application attacks, DDoS, lateral movement.
• Knowledge in Windows and/or Linux operating systems, how to investigate them for signs of compromise.
• Passion to learn and to contribute to the ongoing development of the team.
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• Foundational understanding of file analysis; extracting indicators, providing a report, implementing mitigations
• Basic understanding of Cloud architecture and how an attacker can utilize these platforms.
• Foundational level of scripting knowledge is desirable.
• Ability to demonstrate the right approach to investigating alerts and/or indicators and document your findings in a manner that both peer and executive level colleagues can understand.
• Appreciation of the wider roles of interconnecting Cyber Security teams and collaboration with each of those (i.e. Forensics / Threat Intelligence / Penetration Testing / Vulnerability Management / “Purple Teaming” etc)
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cyber Security, or related field
• Relevant industry certifications (such as GIAC, Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker, etc.) are a plus
• Participation in CTF challenges and being an active member of the cyber security are also advantageous.

Location

Wurth IT USA is conveniently located in Lake Forest, IL 60045. This position requires onsite work for 3 days per week. Please note relocation assistance is not provided.

As a member of the Security Operations team, you will fit into a global team providing 24/7 monitoring and Incident Response, acting as the frontline for attacks against our companies’ infrastructure. As an analyst, your role will include monitoring alerts, starting to finish case investigation, threat hunting, file analysis, as well as getting involved in projects that aim to improve the capability of the team.

Compensation package:

• Bonus opportunities
• $75,000-$130,000 Base salary. Depending on experience.

Experience level:

1 to 10 years of experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cyber Security, or related field.

 Schedule:

• 8-hour shift
• You will be part of a global team providing 24/7 security monitoring and incident response. Through our follow-the-sun operating model, your shifts will take place during local daytime office hours rather than overnight. The standard schedule consists of five shifts per week, with scheduled weekend and public-holiday coverage possible.
