Summary
Arete Incident Response is seeking a Cyber Operator for its Threat Fusion Center to focus on monitoring and recording cybercrime activity. The successful candidate will be a self-starting and motivated analyst that will help build Arete’s threat actor monitoring services and consulting stakeholders on ransomware threats.
This position will be primarily focused on tracking known adversaries and emerging threats. The analyst will also contribute to the research and recording of threat insights and intelligence products, to be used by Arete’s stakeholders. A successful analyst will thrive on learning new Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and how cyber threat groups apply them during cybercrime activity.
Roles & Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Digital Forensics Incident Response (DFIR) teams to monitor threat actor activity and to coordinate threat actor tracking.
Profile threat actor groups by analyzing case reports, raw and open-source intelligence, and documenting their TTPs.
Identify and report on the current and changing TTPs used by cyber threat actors.
Identify intelligence gaps and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to fill those gaps.
Respond to RFIs, internally and externally from customers.
Skills & Knowledge
Motivated self-starter with a passion for cyber threat intelligence.
Ability to produce high-quality intelligence services with short deadlines.
Knowledge of or passion to learn about the cyber threat landscape and especially about ransomware groups.
Desire to extend knowledge of threat actor TTPs and the technical aspects of the tools and techniques used by cybercrime threat actors.
Job Requirements
1-2 years of experience or education in cyber security, cyber intelligence, national security, law enforcement, or related fields preferred.
Ability to work all global hours, including weekends - Average of 75-90 hours a month, 2-3 shifts a week.
Strong communication skills in English, both in writing and verbally.
Advanced proficiency in Russian or other Eastern European languages is preferred but not required.

Terms of Employment
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with Arete salary and benefit policy.
FLSA Overtime Category
Job is non-exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 in the work week.
