Optiv is seeking a Cyber Operations Manager to join Optiv Security’s 24x7x365 Security Operations Center as a member of the Advanced Fusion Center (AFC) team. The Advanced Fusion Center (AFC) line of business consists of security operations expertise supporting over 40+ clients. Our team is comprised of highly technical individuals capable of delivering managed services to clients in all industry verticals. The Optiv AFC specializes in custom-tailored security solutions delivered primarily through three practice teams: Client Engagement, Engineering Operations, and Detection and Response Operations. These teams work in tandem to assist our clients in reaching their security maturity goals. 

 
The Cyber Operations Manager is responsible for activities related to maintaining and expanding customer relationships and reestablishing those that have lapsed. The position will take the lead in working cross functionally to resolve key customer challenges. They support initiatives and other priorities by injecting the customers' perspective into the service development and deployment process. The role requires involvement with key stakeholders and maintains a positive relationship with clients while serving as an escalation point for service delivery. This person will also define policies, procedures, and best practices. The position is closely involved in helping to mentor, develop and evaluate employee performance as well as helping with development and continuous improvement of the Cyber Operations services. 

 

The ideal candidate should also possess expertise in Identity/Privileged Access Management and other security domains we support for our clients, such as: SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and vulnerability management. The Cyber Operations Manager is expected to not only be familiar with these domains but how their domain expertise and it's maturity will improve and/or inform other security domains.  

  

How you'll make an impact  

  • Build strategic relationships with Optiv customers by supporting key customer-facing activities including on-going face to face relationship building and customer satisfaction-related efforts  

  • Individual contributor acting as a delivery and services senior leader  

  • Work with delivery teams and the client to create plans for accomplishing engagement objectives and a strategy that complies with professional standards and addresses the risks inherent in the engagement  

  • Provide constructive on-the-job feedback and coaching to team members  

  • Deliver effective services based on a thorough understanding of complex cyber security architectures and technology and ability to effectively apply it to client situations and environments  

  • Use extensive knowledge of the client's business and industry to identify technological developments and evaluate impacts on the client's business  

  • Perform project management and team leadership, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services  

  • Understand Optiv and its service lines and actively assess what Optiv can deliver to serve clients  

  • Create innovative insights for clients, adapts methods & practices to fit operational team needs & contributes to thought leadership documents  

  • Understand the business requirements clearly and plan for effective utilization of resources, managing the change requests and risk planning, etc  

  • Enhance service delivery through frequent interaction with the end user and business sponsors  

  • Understand the process gaps and propose preventive / corrective action where appropriate  

  

 

What we're hiring for 

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university Information Technology, Information Security/Assurance, Engineering or similar area of study Req 

  • 4-7 years of experience in service delivery management Required 

  • 4-7 years of Project Management experience Required 

  • 4-7 years of Information Technology experience Required 

  • Knowledge or expertise in multiple security domains to include: IAM/PAM, SIEM, SOAR, EDR, vulnerability management, incident response and governance.  

  • Broad knowledge of technology trends, relevance to clients’ businesses and market impacts  

  • Superb business acumen, project management expertise and understanding of the Services organization as a whole  

  • Demonstrated ability to create comprehensive assessment reports  

  • Must be able to work well with customers and self-manage through difficult situations, focus on client satisfaction.  

  • Ability to convey complex technical security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences including executives  

  • Team-oriented and possess excellent problem solving, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (Proficient proficiency) 

  • Ability to work both independently as well as on teams  

  • Ability to lead and mentor others; willingness to collaborate and share knowledge with team members.  

  • Willingness to travel to meet client needs  

  • Valid driver's license in the US  

  • The successful candidate must hold or be willing to pursue related professional certifications such as the CISSP, CISM, and/or CISA.
