SoFi is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented, self-motivated Cyber Issue Governance Specialist to join our Cyber Governance, Risk and Compliance team. This role will support SoFi Technologies' (including subsidiaries) and reporting to the Cyber Risk Director of the first line of defense (1LOD). This role will support the ongoing development and implementation of the cyber issue governance program, including the policies, standards, procedures, and tools needed to ensure adherence to Cyber's, 2LOD's, Enterprise Risk Management's, IA programs and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in cybersecurity risk management, governance, and compliance, and will be an agile learner, think strategically, and possess strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Develop and maintain Cyber Risk Management Issue Governance policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Provide independent risk challenge and oversight, ensuring issues are recorded accurately, adhere to program requirements, and align with defined risk taxonomies.
  • Advance the company's issue management risk culture and program knowledge through training, education, and communication.
  • Analyze issues and prepare reports that highlight themes, root causes, and emerging risks to the Cyber Risk Management leadership.
  • Support and advise the design, development, and testing of information systems, such as GRC software.
  • Maintain excellent communication with all levels of the organization, be responsive to issue owners/managers, and provide appropriate training and cross-training to other SoFi team members as needed.
  • Continue to look for opportunities to be more efficient while maintaining a strong control environment.
  • Stay current on applicable federal, state, and industry laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5+ years in cybersecurity risk management, compliance, and/or project management within the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, products, processes, and regulations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration, influencing, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently or within a group under minimal daily direction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, develop innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience leading and managing meetings with cross-functional teams, effectively and efficiently communicating, and driving engagement from the first line of defense.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and deriving meaningful insights for decision-making.
  • Drive assigned tasks to completion in a timely manner.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity risk management principles and practices.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and corporate governance standards.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple initiatives and competing priorities.
  • Strong team player.
  • Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) systems.



  • Experience with Tableau reporting software



The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.
