The Cyber Fraud Analyst II is a dynamic and critical role focused on safeguarding Staples against a wide range of cyber fraud threats. In this position, you will leverage advanced technologies, analytics, and fraud detection methodologies to identify, investigate, and mitigate fraudulent activity before it impacts our business. You will partner closely with cybersecurity, technology, and business stakeholders to strengthen fraud prevention capabilities and help drive innovative solutions that stay ahead of emerging threats.
Please note, this role includes a shared on-call rotation that may require occasional after-hours support. The schedule is designed to distribute coverage responsibilities across the team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of data to identify, assess, and investigate cyber fraud threats and suspicious activity.
- Develop and enhance fraud prevention strategies utilizing advanced analytics and predictive modeling techniques.
- Partner with IT Security and cross-functional teams to improve fraud detection tools, processes, and monitoring capabilities.
- Perform post-incident investigations and trend analysis to identify patterns and strengthen future prevention efforts.
- Exercise independent judgment to evaluate fraud risks and determine appropriate mitigation actions.
- Communicate fraud trends, risks, and recommendations to business and technical stakeholders.
- Support and lead cross-functional initiatives designed to enhance fraud detection and response capabilities.
- Research industry trends, emerging fraud schemes, and new technologies to continuously improve detection strategies.
- Help mentor junior analysts and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
- Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to improve fraud detection methodologies and operational effectiveness.

- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, fraud prevention frameworks, and data privacy regulations.
- Experience analyzing large datasets to identify fraud patterns, anomalies, and potential threats.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and investigations.
What’s Needed - Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or equivalent fraud/cybersecurity certifications.
- Master's degree in a related discipline.
- Experience with predictive analytics, fraud modeling, or advanced fraud detection technologies.
- Experience working closely with cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or risk management teams.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
