Job Summary:

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to join our KBR Clearfield Team. The Cyber Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the development, maintenance, and execution of cybersecurity Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages in alignment with federal and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements. This position requires a strong technical foundation in cybersecurity engineering, combined with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise documentation for compliance and policy purposes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Develop, review, and maintain ATO packages, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Reports (SARs), and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
Conduct security control assessments and provide engineering support to ensure systems meet RMF and NIST requirements.
Collaborate with system owners, ISSOs, and security teams to identify, document, and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
Draft, edit, and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and technical documentation to support compliance and accreditation efforts.
Provide technical writing expertise to ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with organizational standards.
Support continuous monitoring activities, vulnerability management, and remediation tracking.
Stay current with evolving cybersecurity regulations, frameworks, and best practices to ensure compliance and readiness.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience with RMF, NIST 800-53, and DoD cybersecurity compliance processes.
Prior experience with aircraft systems, particularly for military aircraft.
A strong understanding of computer hardware and software architectures.
