Who are we looking for
State Street Investment Management ("State Street IM"), formerly known as State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), is seeking a hands-on technology leader to lead our Emerging Technology and Transformation team in India. This role combines technology leadership with strong technical depth and hands-on engagement in solution architecture, design, and development.
The successful candidate will drive Operational Transformation and Innovation initiatives through the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, and modern engineering practices. This leader will play a key role in evaluating, adopting, and scaling enterprise AI platforms such as Google Gemini Enterprise and other emerging technologies while collaborating closely with global Architecture, Security, Data, and Engineering teams.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams, delivering production-grade AI solutions, and enabling business transformation in a highly regulated enterprise environment.
What You Will Be Responsible For:
Architect and implement scalable AI solutions incorporating Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, orchestration platforms, prompt engineering frameworks, and agentic workflows.
Define and execute the emerging technology and AI capability roadmap, aligning investments and priorities with strategic business objectives.
Evaluate and recommend enterprise AI platforms, tools, and technologies, balancing innovation with scalability, security, and operational excellence.
Drive technology roadmaps and modernization initiatives by identifying opportunities for platform evolution, automation, and digital transformation.
Design, develop, and deploy enterprise AI applications using Python, Google Gemini Enterprise, and modern AI frameworks including LangChain, LangGraph, and related technologies.
Build production-grade AI capabilities that deliver measurable business outcomes while maintaining enterprise reliability, performance, and maintainability.
Design cloud-native solutions leveraging modern cloud services, APIs, integration patterns, and data platforms.
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of AI engineers and solution architects, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.
Partner closely with global business, technology, data, security, infrastructure, and architecture teams to identify opportunities and deliver AI-driven business transformation initiatives.
Stay current with industry trends across cloud infrastructure, modern application architectures, data platforms, developer tooling, automation, and integration technologies.
Drive responsible AI adoption by ensuring appropriate governance, model risk management, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
Communicate strategy, recommendations, and business impact clearly to senior stakeholders and executive leadership
Education & Preferred Qualifications:
Batchlor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
Overall, 10+ years of work experience
Strong, hands-on expertise in Python for building production-grade applications and AI solutions.
Experience with enterprise AI platforms such as Google Gemini Enterprise, Azure AI, AWS AI services, or equivalent, with the ability to evaluate and adopt platforms based on enterprise needs.
Proven experience defining AI and emerging technology strategy, including platform selection, build vs buy decisions, and alignment with enterprise architecture standard.
Experience with Cloud services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, IAM etc.
Experience designing, building, and scaling AI capabilities, including large language model integration, prompt engineering, retrieval‑augmented generation, and agent‑based workflows for enterprise use case.
Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and enterprise-grade engineering practices.
Experience designing cloud-native and scalable application architectures.
Experience with data platforms, APIs, and integration patterns.
Experience in financial services or highly regulated environments is preferred.
