CV Algorithm Engineer (f/m/d)

At APTIV, we design, develop, and validate systems to improve safety and comfort in vehicles. This includes the development of innovative computer vision features and machine learning algorithms for exterior ADAS cameras. Examples of features are vehicle and pedestrian detection, lane detection and traffic sign/light recognition.

In this fast growing and innovative technology area, you would be working in an international team of computer vision and machine learning experts to shape the future of mobility with us.

Your Tasks

• Develop advanced machine learning algorithms for automotive ADAS camera systems, from early prototype to embedded-integration ready

• Design, train and evaluate machine learning models using Python and PyTorch.

• Write high-quality, tested and efficient software in C++ for embedded platforms.

• File patent applications to strengthen APTIV’s IP portfolio.

• Work in an international, agile development team

Your Background: 

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree and three years of relevant experience or PhD degree in machine learning/artificial intelligence.

• Deep understanding of artificial intelligence, model building and evaluation.

• Experience with at least one common ML framework (ideally PyTorch).

• Software development skills in C++ and Python.

• Passion for clean, well-tested, and documented code.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Very good communication skills in English, both verbal and in written.

• Ability to work collaboratively with international teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in topics of classical Computer Vision and camera calibration

• Experience with classical tracking algorithms (Kalman filter)

• German language skills
