Project Manager
We are looking for a Project Manager to manage key projects regarding Harman Software Products projects mainly OTA and device management, which is the most advanced and proven solution for Automotive OEMs and Suppliers.
[Job Description]
- Plan and execute projects according to project schedule, budget and quality benchmarks
- Communicate project tasks and commitments to project team members and stakeholders (sales team and R&D in Harman and other company offices, ) effectively
- Work closely with customers (technical and executive level) in order to understand customer expectations and the requirements in a wider view (the “big picture”), and develop effective working relationships
- Work with groups across the organization to gather inputs and define the deliverables, resource requirements and work-plan for the project, and oversee their development and delivery (“matrix management”)
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks and crises, and devise contingency plans as needed
- Ability to travel with potential for domestic and international

- Managing all project aspects, facing customer project management, and in full collaboration with project management in headquarters
- Statement of Work, Change Requests
- Project Gantt
- Action items
- Customer meetings, deliveries
- Submitting periodic updates to customer, to corporate project management and to headquarters
- Managing customer expectations, to avoid bad surprises and crises
- Conducting Lesson Learn and Post Mortem sessions after the completion of each project for continuous improvement
[Qualifications - Required]
Experience:
- 5+years of practical experience in implementation of software projects, preferably to involve both client and server side development and integration
- Experience working with complete software development life cycle activities and custom software development projects
Language Skills:
- Native Japanese
- Comprehensive English skills, business English level (meetings, reports document creation and presentations)
Educational Background:
- At least 6 years of experience of SW hands on development or bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, PMP a plus.

- Experience with automotive related SW project management an advantage
- Excellent human relations, also experience in cross-cultural and cross functional communication
- High verbal / presentation / rhetorical abilities
- High self-management capabilities, quick learner, positivity and a high level of motivation towards accomplishing objectives
- Improvisation skills, “out of the box” thinking
- Ability to successfully operate under pressure
- Desire to proactively, logically and flexibly take on new challenges, applying past experience
