We are looking for a Modernization Engineer for our Customer Solution Engineering Department, based in Dubai, UAE, and reporting to the Customer Solution Manager – Modernization.
This role is responsible for identifying the best KONE products to meet customer needs in non-standard and modernization cases. It involves selecting the right product platform, collaborating with the Supply Line and other teams to ensure accurate costing for materials and services, and managing product lead times. Additionally, the role will create product specifications and coordinate between corporate, local sourcing, and Front Lines to deliver optimal solutions.

General Responsibilities:
Participates in product and new service release information-sharing sessions
Provides technical training to Sales, Installation, and Maintenance as per Front Line needs
Offers input to the product offering management about customization, standardization, and interface requirements for the portfolio
Contributes to the Customer Solutions Engineering virtual and local network
Contributes to and utilizes the Customer Solutions Engineering case library
Handles engineering on Modernisation (MOD), including component upgrades (small VB repairs), full replacement (FRB), or existing building lifts (EBULI)
Defines local technical content in sales configuration tools
Is the primary front-line technical contact person for the Supply Line
Responsible for solution engineering in non-standard customer builds, also in standard product cases, for example, transportation routes, special shafts, and building automation systems.
Are you the right Fit?
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in preferably Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or several years of working experience in the elevator business
Advanced level of English, both written and verbal
Understanding of different building types and customer segments
Understanding of new construction and building modernization processes in the industry
Knowledge of KONE product-related norms and standards is a plus
Good knowledge of environmental and sustainability requirements and norms
Good at AutoCAD and MS Office applications; BIM skills are a plus
Good understanding of local norms and regulations
Excellent virtual collaboration skills with an understanding and ability to translate customer needs into the KONE product offering.
