Reporting to the Onsite FST Manager, the Controls Engineer is dedicated to guiding and advancing the Customer Hillsboro Site Distributed Factory Controls platforms, serving as the Site Lead and Subject Specialist for all Distributed Factory Controls projects at that site, from initial design through successful implementation. Additionally, the Site Controls Engineer collaborates to address software and controls needs across the Air Liquide fleet of installed chemical delivery equipment at the site. The position is to be located in Hillsboro, OR.

Requirements

  • Serve as a primary site technical resource at our customer's D1 site in Hillsboro Oregon, serving for both Distributed Factory Controls and Chemical Equipment SW/Controls, establishing and maintaining a strong relationship with the customer.

  • Key contributor for Hillsboro site Distributed Factory Controls platforms design and implementation, taking into account rapidly evolving customer needs and communicating these to the greater AES organization to ensure constant alignment between factory and site.

  • Coordinate with Air Liquide Controls group to ensure “Excellent Standards” are upheld where they currently exist, and are newly established and created where needed.

  • Create and Update Controls Work Procedures/Instructions where needed, in cooperation with the AES controls group.

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting down to the module level on both Factory controls systems and Chemical Equipment SW/Controls, applying a systematic approach, documenting and reporting out on findings and resolution paths.

  • Guide equipment down and recovery situations at local level, including reporting, documenting (e.g. - 8D, 5 Why, etc) and follow up of incidents to final closure.

  • Conducts necessary changes and upgrades of Air Liquide Factory Controls (where appropriate) and Chemical Equipment SW/Controls equipment as part of continuous improvement, cost minimization, or issue resolution efforts

  • Develop and Conduct limited informal customer training sessions

  • Create step plans and troubleshooting guides to spread/document knowledge Adjust SCADA Objects, Screens, Scripts to fit or optimize for user needs

  • Create/adjust points in control system to fit site desires and requirements Serve as a trusted ALES system specialist on site and support questions across all platforms

  • Help troubleshoot alarms and network issues with systems

  • Perform electrical troubleshooting systems as needed

  • Gather information from ALE equipment(Levitronix controllers, Flexim flow meters) in troubleshooting/diagnostic efforts

  • Perform signal checks and signal troubleshooting on equipment

  • Coordinate with Customer’s Contractors during construction phases to ensure proper installations and resolve controls related issues prior to system startup and commissioning.

  • Assist Customer’s IT / Networking / Automation / Telecom groups in their evolution of the integration of Air Liquide Distributed Factory Controls

  • Provide guidance on IO Panel utilization for current and future builds

  • Ensure IO standards are utilized between Tool vendors when integrating with Air Liquide Controls system

  • Assist with Controls related development to minimize future implementation issues Document and track changes within control system to minimize troubleshooting unknowns

  • Development and maintenance of system documentation, including system architecture drawings, product data sheets, installation details, interconnect diagrams, etc.

  • Develop Factory Acceptance Testing standards for new equipment and SW Contributor to Work Instructions and Technical Documentation for Air Liquide Final Test and Field Service groups, to include Operational and Functional Acceptance testing documentation and procedures for Air Liquide use Act as the conduit between Customer and Air Liquide Engineering during new equipment startup to test, debug, and resolve issues.

  • Develop existing Factory Controls training materials for customer, performing training for Hillsboro Site

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related degree, or equivalent 5+ years experience in Factory Distributed Controls for the Semiconductor Industry.

  • 3+ years minimum experience in Factory Distributed Controls for the Semiconductor Industry, or other relevant experience

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including Organization, Safety, Communication, and Schedule Adherence, acting autonomously on all fronts

  • Solid understanding of Semiconductor Manufacturing processes, including critical up-time factory support systems, safety requirements, and Factory Distributed Controls implications on these aspects

  • Ability to cover for needs outside of normal business hours to be on a best efforts basis

  • Demonstrated understanding of Factory Distributed Controls Systems for the Semiconductor Industry, including Data Acquisition and Input/Output Controls.

  • Experience in the industrial gas industry
