This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 2:30pm - 11:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer 3 weeks of on-the-job training. During normal business of 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday.
The primary work location is accessible only by stairs. Regular access to office space located on the third floor is required as part of performing essential job functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Answering inbound phone calls while providing a high-quality patient/caller experience.
- Responsible for code and emergency team responses.
- Responsible for monitoring various hospital alarm systems and responding in an efficient and timely manner.
- Scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling appointments.
- Working all assigned tasks in a timely manner according to departmental standards and documenting all actions taken within the system.
- Responding to general information requests and/or inquiries from patients, physicians, medical offices, and other callers.
- Communicating effectively and in a professional manner.
- Processing all work-related responsibilities in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
- Ability to work full-time onsite at Bassett Medical Center, 31 Beaver Street, Cooperstown, NY.
- Ability to work full-time Monday - Friday, 2:30pm - 11:00pm
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in healthcare customer service
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16 - $29 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
