Job Description Summary:
Customer Quality Engineer will be the face for Quality to various 3M customers in the Chennai region working very closely with them in understanding their current, future and potential Quality requirements/ concerns & taking up them with the CFT to drive resolution in terms of corrective, preventive or improvement actions.
This CQE position will play an important role in ensuring timely resolution of customer concerns and preventing any disruption to assembly operations.
In addition, this role will proactively capture the voice of the customer at FATP (Final assembly and testing plant) locations, strengthen customer engagement, and continuously support improvement in the overall customer quality experience.
The Position will also work with local and Global teams to ensure quality issues are resolved on time and work towards achieving zero defect target
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Handling customer complaints, deployment of containment action to avoid line issues/ stoppage, driving permanent corrective & preventive action in co-ordination with technical & plant teams
- Ensure on time Closure of CAPA on customer portals
- Negotiation & convincing customer in case of a concern at customer end where there is no quality issue from 3M product
- Regularly visits customers to keep up the Quality rhythm.
- Participation in trials at customer line for New Products and preventing Quality concerns
- Provide inputs to CFT & manufacturing plant on new products/ customer complaints based on observations at customer end for necessary corrective / preventive actions
- Works closely with global technical and quality teams
- Drive projects for achieving customer Quality targets to achieve zero defect
- Participates in project planning. Assists in establishing project objectives and priorities.
- Maintains an awareness of Quality and works with the regional Technical & sales teams.
- Leads customer meetings on Quality complaints/improvement.
- Work on necessary quality documentation
