As a Customer Project Manager/Facilities Security Officer (FSO) you are responsible for the acquisition and execution of customer projects (i.e. orders with high organizational and technical complexity and high revenue volume, as well as facility security). You ensure that key projects are properly scoped, delivered on time and within budget. You contribute to the development of the market strategy by the Commercial Director, and you develop key customer roadmaps. You foster smooth communication across functional units as needed to provide optimum solutions for customer projects in the quotation and execution process. As the Facility Security Officer (FSO) you foster a secure and safe environment within the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities30% Execution of Projects:
Organizational, technical and financial leadership for execution of large customer projects. Preparing work packages (deliverables) for operations and T&I and finalizing the work packages with T&I and operations to hand over the responsibility for execution. Monitoring the processing progress. Presenting project progress and results to customers. Organization and management of projects meetings with customers and suppliers. Manage Milestone execution and financial forecast.
30 Management of Quotes and Proposals:
Identify strategic NBOs within market. Check and evaluate customer needs and specifications. Check feasibility and manufacturing expense with T&I and Operations. Prepare project schedule and price proposal and present to customers. Align pricing and margin strategy with Product Managers and Commercial Director.
20% Development of Market Opportunities:
Build and nurture strong relationships with key customers, and partners to ensure long-term business success. Present MPO global technical capabilities at customer meetings and exhibitions. Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments. Support development of strategy by Commercial Director and develop roadmaps for current and future key customers.
20% Facilities Security Officer:
The primary role of a Facility Security Officer (FSO) is to foster a secure and safe environment within the facility. This includes looking after the physical well-being of the location and ensuring the protection of information, employees, vendors, and visitors. In this role, an FSO oversees access to special areas and is responsible for detecting and responding to suspicious activities and ensuring that the facility remains clear of potential threats.
Quantitative DataThe main tasks are
• Lead technically complex projects or high value NBOs
• Manage quotations/proposals and present to customer
• Manage and Monitor Milestone execution and financial forecast for customer projects
• Strategic customer management under the direction of the Commercial Director (e.g. understand customer corporate strategy and embed into Materion commercial strategy
• Voice customer expectations / complaints / appreciation to Product Management and Operations
• Gain market intelligence and identify market strategic NBOs
• Work with Market/Ops/T&I leaders to define customer roadmap
• Products, Technology & Capability and Capacity
• Work with Product Management to align pricing strategy
• Foster a secure and safe environment within the facility

• Budget achievement – Revenue, volume and timing, Margin for managed projects
• Customer satisfaction scorecard & Audit ratings

QualificationsEducation – University degree in engineering, physics or a related field of study
Experience – Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in industry or science. Optics industry experience – Preferred. Comprehensive professional experience in project management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities – Organizational and engineering skills, communication skills, precise working style, team player fluent English, knowledge of quality management systems. Expertise in optics or space industry – Preferred. Possess a security clearance or be able to get one – Preferred.
Salary range: $119,700-163,170*
*The salary range listed is a guide for this position and may vary depending on experience, education, geographic location, and other qualifications. The final offer will be determined based on the candidate's individual merits and the company's compensation policies.
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
