Join Our TeamAt TELUS Health, our Payroll Implementation team plays a critical role in enabling clients to operate efficiently, remain compliant, and deliver a better experience to their employees. We're building a function that combines deep functional expertise with genuine partnership—working alongside clients to redesign not just their systems, but how they operate. If you're someone who takes pride in solving complex problems and driving measurable operational improvements, you'll find this work meaningful.
Our team is collaborative and forward-thinking. We value continuous learning, excellence in execution, and the kind of partnership that turns challenging implementations into success stories. You'll work with talented Business Analysts, architects, and technical teams who care about getting it right.
The Impact You'll Make and What We'll Accomplish Together
Lead End-to-End Payroll Transformations
You'll own the complete payroll implementation journey—from understanding client requirements in discovery workshops to designing solutions, configuring systems, executing testing, and ensuring readiness for cutover. You won't just hand off work; you'll drive accountability and ensure every phase moves the client closer to success.
Solve Complex Payroll & Process Challenges
Every client's payroll operation is unique. You'll assess their business requirements against system capabilities, partner across teams (Solution Architecture, Product, Development, Data, QA) to design practical solutions, and use advanced SQL skills to validate configurations, analyze data, and investigate issues. You'll dig deep to find root causes and provide the evidence-based insights that drive confident decisions.
Champion Continuous Improvement
Beyond implementation, you'll help clients see their payroll operations with fresh eyes. You'll evaluate their current processes for inefficiencies, compliance risks, and opportunities—then design and recommend improved future-state processes that strengthen accuracy, scalability, and controls. You'll own the follow-through to ensure improvements stick and deliver measurable value.
Build Capability & Mentor Others
You'll provide direction and coaching to Business Analysts and team members, promote best practices, and capture lessons learned to elevate the quality of future implementations. You'll be someone others turn to for guidance and clarity in uncertain situations.
Communicate with Clarity and Conviction
You'll translate complex payroll and technical concepts into language that resonates with both business and technical audiences. You'll facilitate workshops, document outcomes, drive decisions to resolution, and maintain strong client relationships through transparency and responsiveness.
You're the Missing Piece of the Puzzle
You bring:
Deep payroll expertise — You understand closed-loop payroll processes, payroll system architecture, configuration, and controls. You're fluent in payroll best practices and common implementation challenges.
Advanced SQL skills — You're comfortable analyzing payroll data, validating calculations, investigating exceptions, supporting data migrations, and providing evidence-based recommendations.
Hands-on configuration experience — You've configured major payroll or benefits systems (SAP, Workday, ADP, or equivalent) and understand how business requirements translate into system setup.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability — You can break down complex requirements, identify root causes, and drive solutions. You're comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy digging deeper.
Excellent communication skills — You can explain intricate payroll concepts clearly, guide teams through difficult decisions, facilitate alignment across stakeholders, and build trust through transparency.
Salary Range: $75K - $95K
