Your Role: Customer Development Specialist – WA. OR, AK

As a Customer Development Specialist (Inside Sales Representative) within the US Sales Group for Pet Health, you will drive sales of Elanco products within an assigned geography. In this role, you will utilize our CVS selling model, territory management, and digital marketing to create an exceptional customer experience while maximizing sales performance.

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage long-term relationships with key veterinary practices to uncover needs and generate recommendations to achieve sales targets.
• Partner with assigned sales districts to create business plans, nurture leads, and execute strategies in targeted accounts for optimal sales growth.
• Leverage a multi-channel approach to remotely engage specific customers with customized content and offers via Veeva CRM.
• Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of Elanco’s product portfolio to effectively lead new product launches and brand initiatives.
• Execute all sales objectives and key sales metrics to ensure territory success and customer satisfaction.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

• Education: Associate degree or High School Diploma / GED with equivalent level of experience.
• Experience: Previous experience in inside sales or the animal health industry.
• Top Skills: Customer Value Selling (CVS) aptitude and proficiency in digital tools including CRM (Salesforce/Veeva) and MS Teams.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

• Undergraduate degree (BS/BA) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to identify and solve customer issues strategically through Elanco organizational capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of the Companion Animal market, customers, and products.
• Proven track record of delivering creative customer solutions.

Travel: 5-10%

Location: Remote – US – Must live in Washington, Oregon, or Alaska to be eligible

Elanco currently anticipates that the base hourly rate for this position could range from $28.70 to $48.74 depending partly on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death ­benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).
