The Customer Development Manager – Albertsons West will:
- Own management responsibility for key elements of the Land O’Lakes Dairy Foods retail portfolio supporting our Albertsons business within the assigned sales unit
- Manage the direct relationships with Albertsons West divisions to include: Seattle, Portland, Northern California, and Southern California, delivering our strategies and objectives. Develop customer relationships through effective management of resources
- Support and assist Team Leader with engagement of Albertsons Corporate category teams
- Collaborate with Land O’Lakes cross-functional team members to maximize opportunities
Responsibilities include attainment of assigned sales volume targets, financial management and profitability, promotional planning and execution, pricing, and market share growth through execution against DSMPs.
General Business Management
- Achieve annual sales volume targets and utilize Power BI to monitor results
- Manage trade spending within budget guidelines by maintaining accurate trade system plans
- Maintain Salesforce live updates (incremental funding requests, account information)
- Work with Team Leader and other Albertsons sales team members to develop annual promotional plans
- Effectively communicate and collaborate internally for assigned Albertsons divisions. Areas of focus include communicating customer needs by interacting with Sales Acceleration Managers/Analysts (SAM/SAA), Customer Insights, Revenue Growth Management, and other cross functional teams to share customer trends, issues, and opportunities
- Strong use of data resources (Circana) and Customer Insights and Analytics team to create actionable insights that improve customer and Land O’Lakes’ sales, profitability, and share
Customer Execution
- Utilize a combination of in-person and virtual meetings to manage and grow our business at Albertsons divisions (Seattle, Portland, Northern California, and Southern California)
- Develop account penetration by working with the Albertsons buying teams (Assistant Sales Managers and Department Specialists)
- Provide strong communication and seek to influence divisions as it relates to promotional plans, pricing, supply chain, and business practices
- Support Team Leader engagement with Albertsons Corporate National Category Director teams
- Learn Albertsons internal systems (Periscope, Albertsons Partner Portal - APP) while also utilizing Acosta Administrative Assistant for portal work
Requirements:
- 4-year college degree or higher/ or equivalent work experience - required
- 5 years or more of consumer package goods or related sales and/or sales support experience with strong knowledge of customer data sources (Circana), systems (customer portals), and work processes - required
- Strong selling and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to find mutually beneficial solutions - required
- Strong analytical skills with solid financial acumen and the ability to understand and process data while developing actionable recommendations - required
- Ability to travel 20% of the time - required
- Experience working with Albertsons - preferred
Salary range: $123,920 - $185,880 (in most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges)
