Key Account Manager- Target

This role is responsible for delivering accelerated growth with Target, while driving topline growth, improving investment efficiency, and helping the organization reach its annual financial targets. The Target Key Account Manager- Target - Cat is expected to become an expert on the Pet Category, Shopper Trends, Growth Strategies, and execution for Mars Petcare. The person in this role will be our primary owner of day-to-day business responsibilities, trade management, promotional execution, forecasting, and delivering on the business objectives for the cat desk. They will also work in partnership with the Sales Director to manage all aspects of financial performance, both short and long-term.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent field required
- 4+ Years’ experience in Sales; previous experience within Marketing and Category Management with Fast Moving Consumer Good Industries is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen
- Prior Account Management experience
- Fluent understanding of forecasting
- Knowledge of retailer data and syndicated data sources as well as trade management systems
- Availability to travel 10% of time annually
What would be your key responsibilities?
- Create, manage, and execute customer solutions that drive mutually beneficial results through distribution, pricing, feature, and promotional tactics
- Influence customers to implement solutions through fact-based presentations that deliver results that are beneficial for both customer and company
- Execute all agreed to solutions with customers to include accurate, timely forecasting and detailed follow through
- Own the relationship with Target Cat merchant team
- Ownership of customer trade funds that comply with internal and external requirements and continually improve effectiveness of spending
