This position is part of the Diagnostics and Genomics business unit and will be based in Cardiff, UK. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Custom Team Leader to lead Cytiva’s custom lyophilisation service – Lyo-Stable. The successful candidate will lead a team of 3 scientists, dedicated to helping customers lyophilise their diagnostic assay. The ideal candidate will have a strong background leading a team, lyophilisation of diagnostic assays and their transfer into Manufacturing. Experience with Danaher Business System (DBS) tools will be considered a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of scientists.
• Work with customers to understand their specific lyophilisation requirements and provide expert guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct troubleshooting and technical support for lyophilisation-related issues, providing solutions that meet customer needs and regulatory requirements.

• Oversee tech transfer activities, ensuring the seamless transition of new products from development to production.

• Implement and maintain best practices in lyophilization processes to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Utilize Danaher Business System (DBS) tools to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in lyophilisation technology and incorporate new knowledge into practice.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team.
• Proven experience of transferring products from an R&D environment to large scale Manufacturing.
• Min Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences) or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of lyophilization processes, equipment, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Danaher Business System (DBS) tools is a significant advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
