Job Summary
Reporting to the Head Operations & Service the role holder will provide exemplary and effective service through timely processing of all instructions to custodial clients while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.Job Description
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Operations & Internal Business Processes – 50%
- Instructions management
- Corporate actions processing and management
- Instruction execution including call backs and signature verifications
- Processing of Money Market investments instructions as per SLA’s while prioritizing those earmarked to fund other settlements and primaries
- Processing of all withdrawals/ benefit payments while ensuring end to end processing of customer instructions
- Processing of a fixed income investments in the primary and secondary market as per SLAs
- Processing equities investment instructions as per SLAs
- Client queries resolution in line with target TAT
- Account opening – Cash accounts, Safekeeping and Depository accounts
- Asset transfers - FOP
Risk and Compliance – 20%
- Risk and product family reviews
- Criticality Process assessments
- Controls testing
- Regulatory reporting to CBK, CMA, RBA
Reconciliation – 20%
- Daily reconciliation of the custodial nominee accounts against CASA accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
- Daily reconciliation of processing GLs
- Asset reconciliations with depositories, clients and fund managers
- Cash and income reconciliation for coupons and dividends
- Monthly GL reconciliation
- Deposits reconciliation
Income management – 10%
- Monthly fees accrual and reconciliation
- Invoices generation
- Custody fees collection
- Reconciliation of custody fee GLs
Knowledge & Expertise
Qualification
- A Business-related degree professional qualification
- Basic I.T & Accounting Qualification
- CMA Securities Industry Certification (CISI).
- CPA OR CFA
Experience
- Minimum of at least 4-years’ experience in Custodial Services/Securities Services operations
- Ability to analyse and/or interpret financial statements, and advice accordingly.
- Keen to details and able to interpret fund managers investment instructions and apply them appropriately.
- Computer literate with proficiency in computerized applicable systems.
- Candid knowledge of the financial sector and investment opportunities.
