Status: Full-Time, Regular—Exempt Salary

The Curriculum Writer researches, develops, and writes academically rigorous curriculum for kindergarten through twelfth grade that is grounded in the authority of God’s Word and taught from a distinctly biblical worldview. Using presuppositional apologetics across multiple subject areas, including Bible, history, and science, this individual develops engaging, age-appropriate instructional materials that help students understand God’s Word, think critically, discern truth from error, and confidently defend their faith.

The Curriculum Writer recognizes that all truth belongs to God and that no area of learning is spiritually neutral. Scripture is not simply added to the curriculum but serves as the foundation through which content is selected, understood, and interpreted. Lessons should promote academic excellence while helping students see God’s hand in His creation, history, and the world around them.

Working collaboratively with curriculum writers, subject matter experts, instructional designers, and the Academic Curriculum Editor, the Curriculum Writer develops lessons, assessments, teacher resources, and instructional activities that are both biblically faithful and educationally sound. Materials should be developmentally appropriate, thoughtfully sequenced, engaging for students, and designed to build knowledge, skills, critical thinking, and biblical discernment.

This position contributes to the development of high-quality Christian school and homeschool curriculum that supports parents and educators in discipling the next generation and faithfully reflects the mission, biblical authority, and doctrinal positions of Answers in Genesis.

Responsibilities:

• Research, develop, and write curriculum for multiple grade levels and subject areas, beginning with the authority of God’s Word and integrating a biblical worldview and presuppositional apologetics throughout.
• Develop clear learning objectives, lesson plans, instructional activities, assessments, and teacher resources that promote academic growth, critical thinking, biblical discernment, and student engagement.
• Collaborate with curriculum team members on curriculum planning and design, including developing course outlines, scope and sequence, and learning objectives that translate educational goals into pedagogically sound instructional materials.
• Ensure curriculum is academically rigorous, developmentally appropriate, engaging, and aligned with designated educational standards without compromising biblical truth or the doctrinal positions of Answers in Genesis.
• Develop content that helps students understand and interpret subject matter through the lens of Scripture rather than treating biblical worldview as an added component.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, editors, instructional designers, and other curriculum writers throughout the development process to ensure biblical, academic, and instructional excellence.
• Review and revise curriculum based on editorial feedback, classroom testing, teacher input, and established quality assurance processes.
• Assist in evaluating and updating existing curriculum to maintain biblical faithfulness, academic accuracy, relevance, and educational excellence.
• Collaborate with digital developers to create supplemental online resources and instructional materials that support and enhance student learning.
• Demonstrate Christlike character, integrity, professionalism, humility, teachability, and teamwork in all responsibilities and interactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must agree with and be able to sign the Answers in Genesis Statement of Faith.
• Demonstrates a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a life consistent with biblical principles.
• Active member of a local Bible-believing church.
• Strong understanding of biblical creation, creation/evolution issues, biblical worldview, and presuppositional apologetics.
• Understanding of sound educational practices, including age-appropriate instruction, learning objectives, assessment, scaffolding, and student engagement.
• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent research, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize responsibilities, and meet established deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to biblical, academic, and instructional excellence.
• Ability to work collaboratively and harmoniously with curriculum production team members to accomplish program goals through coordinated teamwork, peer review, and thoughtful discussion.
• Demonstrates humility, teachability, and the ability to give and receive constructive feedback graciously.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with Adobe InDesign or similar publishing software preferred.
• Comfortable learning and utilizing new technologies and digital platforms.
   

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in education, curriculum and instruction, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience in a Christian school setting.
• Experience writing or developing curriculum, educational resources, or instructional materials highly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Scripture, biblical worldview, and apologetics, with the ability to apply these consistently within educational content.
• Experience collaborating within an editorial, publishing, or curriculum development process preferred.
