Four permanent, full-time positions · Aotearoa Infinite Academy · Includes a teaching component · Start Term 1, 2027

Design the online courses our learners will remember. Aotearoa Infinite Academy, New Zealand's first online charter school, is a thriving community growing to 2,000 students in 2027. To bring our goals for our learners to life, we're creating new leadership roles, including four Curriculum Innovators: one each in English, Mathematics, Social Sciences and Sciences. Working alongside your Faculty Lead, you'll take ownership of a set of courses and lead their design, delivery and quality. If you're excited by what great learning can look like online, this is your role.

Innovation online is at the heart of this role

As an online school, our courses are our classrooms, and we want them to be the best online learning in the country. That means more than uploading worksheets. You'll design learning that uses digital tools purposefully: live and recorded sessions, interactive tasks, online feedback and assessment, and thoughtful use of AI. You'll test new approaches, measure what makes a difference and share what works with colleagues.

What you'll lead
  • Course ownership. In collaboration with your Faculty Lead, lead courses allocated by your Faculty Lead, from design and resourcing to assessment and review.

  • Online and blended course design. Build engaging, well-structured online learning in our LMS that students can access anywhere, anytime.

  • Curriculum design. Align your courses to the refreshed national curriculum and our Y9–13 progressions, and contribute to new courses and micro-credentials.

  • Teaching teams. Guide and support the teachers delivering your courses, including moderation, shared planning and coaching.

  • Evidence and improvement. Use achievement and engagement data to refine courses each year.

  • Ethical digital practice. Model safe, ethical use of technology and AI, in line with our digital and privacy guidelines.

Who you are

We want people who are loyal to our vision, passionate about doing things differently, hard-working and unafraid of change and innovation. You'll also bring:

  • A registered teacher with a full practising certificate and specialist expertise in English, Mathematics, Social Sciences or Sciences.

  • A curriculum designer at heart, with ideas for how your subject can be taught better.

  • Confident designing and teaching online, or eager to lead the way, with a track record of trying new approaches.

  • Collaborative: you bring colleagues with you and help them grow.

  • Ready for your next step into curriculum leadership.

What we offer

A genuine curriculum leadership opportunity with room to innovate, plus a teaching component. You'll be backed by a newly expanded senior leadership team focused on curriculum design and digital fluency, with PLD support, time to design and a strong network across faculties. Competitive remuneration.
