Job Description

Job Title: Curriculum Facilitator

Reports to: Operations Manager

Position Classification: Non-Exempt

Office Location: Montgomery

 

Primary Objectives of Position: Monitors contractual obligations and provides educational assistance for James Madison High School. Prepares and delivers instruction, tutoring, and teaching curriculum for High school diploma program.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Recruitment activities to enhance participation in program(s).
  • Administers and scores assessments and prepares assessment reports.
  • Provide and Interpret TABE Assessments to participants.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans for James Madison High School Diploma Program and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Observe and monitor participants progress in James Madison High School program to develop curriculum to meet goals and instructional activities
  • Create and Administer job skills workshop for eligible participants.
  • Invite community partners for opportunities for participants. Occasionally develop and promote in-house career fair(s) for participants.
  • Follows established case management and allied program procedures for orientations.
  • Prepares accurate, timely, and appropriate case notes.
  • Maintains customer contacts according to program policy.
  • Accomplishes data entry and related activities correctly and within acceptable time limits.

    Outreach Material

  • Assist in organizing graduation for participants and present to Business Strategy Supervisor for approval.
  • Creates graduation programs, certificates, and other necessary materials needed to make the graduation a success.
  • Creates printable marketing material used for business development and recruitment.

    Extreme Customer Service: Utilize Extreme Customer Service behaviors in all interactions with internal and external customers.

    Other Job Duties: Other duties and special projects as needed to meet overall company objectives. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.     Physical Demands/Work Environment: Physical requirements include carrying/lifting up to 5 pounds, frequently; up to 10 pounds, regularly; and up to 25 pounds, occasionally. Visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to drive an automobile and operate computer keyboard and basic office equipment; subject to carrying, lifting, twisting, and reaching to perform essential job functions. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment with occasional travel to other locations.

Qualifications

  • Required Competencies:

  • Knowledge of administrative and business processes, programmatic and operational controls, and personnel management
  • Ability to engage students with learning materials
  • Ability to present ideas verbally and give detailed briefings and training classes to students
  • Ability to interact with individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds
  • Strong teaching skills
  • Experience in using Management Information System (MIS)-reporting systems
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and public speaking skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Experience: Three years relevant work experience. Familiarity with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations required. Prefer knowledge of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

    Skills/Abilities: Ability to present exceptionally well in a group setting, Knowledge of customer requirements for all funding streams preferred. Ability to produce organizational strategy and plans to meet training and development needs, manage training delivery and measure outcomes as necessary. Fluency in organizing training venues, logistics and accommodations. Must be able to work in multiple media for training delivery, keep current on training methodologies and coordinate with internal and external training providers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ability to work independently and in group settings with minimal supervision and excellent verbal and written communications skills are required.

    Additional Requirements: Must have valid driver's license and adequate vehicle insurance coverage.
